Karakurum Hindukush Jeep Safari


 Day 1 Arrive Islamabad, transfer to hotel. Remaining of the day at leisure.
 Day 2 Drive to Dir, arrive and transfer to hotel for overnight.

 Day 3 


Drive to Bamburet one of the Kafir Kalash valleys. The inhabitants of these valleys are about 3,000 and inhabit the valleys of Birir, Bamburet and Rambur just south of Chitral. Kalash people are locally known as the as “unbelievers”. they do not follow the Muslim faith, preferring to follow their own mix of animism, ancestors and fire worship. We camp in the Bamburet valley.

 Day 4 


Drive to Rambur another Kalash valley. Return to Bamburet for overnight camping.
 Day 5 Day 05 Drive to Buni via Chitral- overnight camping.
 Day 6 Drive Phander Lake- overnight camping.
 Day 7 Drive to Punial- overnight camping.
 Day 8 Drive to Karimabad and Gulmit Karimabad is the Capital of Hunza with 35,000 inhabitants has been ruled by same family since the 11th century. A legend exists, common to many parts of Himalayas at the western end, that relates that the Hunzakuts(as the people are known) are the descendants of the five lost soldiers of Alexander the Great’s army. The people of Hunza at one time were a very war like people. The Kingdom remained Isolated until the British took over in 1891 and it then became part of Pakistan. Sights to see here are the 400 years old forts of Altit and Baltit. The later fort is said to have been built by a princes who married the reigning Mir and broughtwith her from Baltistan masons, carpenters and craftsmen who built the fort as part of her dowry.
 Day 9 Drive to Batura and Gilgit. Gilgit- at an altitude of 5,000 ft is a thriving frontier town with a population of over 40,000. The small town of Gilgit is quaint and has a cluster of interesting places to visit within a short radius. This includes a beautiful rock carving of Buddha, a 700 years old monument and the longest suspension bridge in Asia 600 ft long. The favorite sport in Gilgit is polo which the locals claim originated here. Gilgit bazaar is famous for its handicrafts. Overnight at hotel.
 Day 10 Drive to Astore and Rama- overnight camping.
 Day 11 Drive to Rama Lake and return Rama- overnight camping.
 Day 12 Drive to Babusar Village- overnight camping.
 Day 13 Drive to Naran- overnight camping.
 Day 14 Arrive to Abbottabad- overnight at hotel.
 Day 15 Drive to Peshawar – Peshawar has many places of interest to see and is full of color. There is the street of “story tellers” Also visit Peshawar Museum, and Mahabat Khan Mosque. Overnight at hotel.
 Day 16 Drive to Islamabad, arrive and transfer to hotel.
 Day 17

Fly to onward destination.
